Case Study: Microvention
MicroVention needed to develop a 21,700+ m² medical device manufacturing facility in Coyol, under strict industrial infrastructure standards, sanitary control requirements, specialized drainage systems, water management, and ground stability constraints.
The site’s complexity—combined with the operational demands of a highly regulated industry—made it critical to rely on civil engineering capable of preventing flooding risks, platform failures, external utility conflicts, and permitting or approval issues. Prior to S3’s involvement, there was a persistent risk of fragmented designs that did not fully respond to the scale of the operation or its regulatory sensitivity.
S3 unified and elevated the project’s civil engineering approach, transforming a complex logistical and technical challenge into a solid, clear platform ready for world-class medical operations.
The project shifted from uncertainty around drainage, grading, and stormwater risks to precise, traceable solutions designed to meet industrial and regulatory requirements with accuracy and confidence.
S3 delivered the complete civil engineering scope for a 21,746 m² facility in Coyol, including:
Integrated design of platforms, roadways, drainage systems, stormwater management, and external utility networks.
Stormwater and sanitary solutions developed with specialized criteria for the medical industry, ensuring operational continuity and protection of critical areas.
Earthworks and grading systems optimized to control costs and reduce risks related to differential settlement.
Close coordination with international teams to comply with regulatory, environmental, and corporate standards.
Delivery of plans, technical criteria, and documentation that streamline permitting processes and ensure technical traceability throughout construction.
